Ceramic Coating in Chatsworth, CA

A ceramic coating is a liquid glass layer that bonds to your clear coat and stays there. Water beads and rolls off instead of sitting on the panel. Road grime never quite gets a grip. Washing takes half as long as it used to, and the car holds that just detailed look far longer than it otherwise would.

What a coating does, and what it does not

It adds gloss, and the depth is obvious on dark colors. It makes washing easier, because most of what lands on the car never bonds properly in the first place. It resists bird droppings, water spots, bug acid, and the general chemical abuse a car takes sitting outside all summer in the Valley. It blocks UV, which is what dulls and fades paint over years of this sun.

It does not stop rock chips. Nothing you pour out of a bottle will. If chips are the concern, paint protection film is the answer, and we install that as well.

It does not make paint scratch proof either. It adds real resistance to light marring, but no coating survives a shopping cart or an automatic wash brush.

We say all of this up front because this industry oversells relentlessly, and a customer who understands what they bought is a customer who is still happy about it two years later.

The prep is most of the job

People shop coatings by the name on the bottle. The bottle is the smallest part of the price.

A coating locks in the condition of the paint beneath it. Swirl marks, wash scratches, and water spot etching present on the day we coat the car are now sealed under a hard layer, and they stay visible for as long as the coating lasts. So we correct the paint first.

Correction means machine polishing the clear coat to level the defects out. How much a car needs depends entirely on how it has been washed for its whole life. A garage kept car with a careful owner may need very little. A car that has been through automatic washes for six years needs real work. We inspect the paint under proper lighting and show you exactly what we find before we quote anything.

What we coat

Paint is the obvious one and it is where the visual payoff lives.

Glass is the one people forget and it might be the most useful. A coated windshield sheds rain so well you can go a surprising distance before reaching for the wipers, and bugs come off with a rinse instead of a scrub.

Wheels take a coating well, and coated wheels release brake dust with water instead of a brush and ten minutes of your Saturday.

Interior surfaces can be coated too. Fabric and leather resist spills and staining. Trim and plastic fade more slowly. Tell us how you actually use the car and we will tell you what is worth doing and what is not.

Keeping the coating working

Wash it. That is honestly most of it. A coating is not a reason to stop washing, it is the reason washing gets easy.

Hand wash with two buckets and a clean mitt. Use a pH neutral soap. Stay out of automatic bays with brushes. Dry with a clean towel or a blower rather than letting the car air dry, because the minerals in the water are what leave spots behind.

We offer maintenance washes and periodic decontamination for coated cars, which is the simplest way to keep one looking right if washing at home is not something you want to spend your weekend on.

Coating over film, and coating a wrap

If you are having paint protection film installed, a coating on top is a natural pairing. Film handles impact, coating handles cleaning. Doing both in one visit saves a second trip and a second round of prep.

Vinyl wraps can be coated as well. It helps satin and matte finishes most, since those are otherwise difficult to clean without leaving shiny spots.

Ceramic coating across Los Angeles

The shop is in Chatsworth and our coating customers come from all over. Porter Ranch, Granada Hills, Northridge, Tarzana, Encino, Calabasas, Agoura Hills, and the run out toward Malibu are all familiar drives for us.

This part of California is hard on paint. Relentless sun, dust off the hills, hard water, and long stretches with no rain to wash any of it off. A coating earns its money faster here than it does almost anywhere else. If you are driving in from the coast or the far side of the Valley, call first so we can plan the car in and out on a schedule that works for you.

Common questions

How long does a ceramic coating last?+

Longer than a wax and much longer than a sealant. How much longer depends on the product, how the car is stored, and how it gets washed. We will tell you what to expect from the specific coating we recommend before you commit to anything.

Can I just use a spray from the auto parts store?+

Consumer sprays are real products and they do something. They do not last long and they do not include paint correction, which is where the visible improvement comes from. If your paint is already in good shape and you enjoy the process, a spray is fine. If you want the car to look better than it does now, that is a different job.

How long do you need my car?+

Almost entirely a function of how much correction the paint needs. We will give you a timeline once we have inspected it.

Should I coat a brand new car?+

Yes, and it is the ideal moment. New paint still usually needs light correction, because cars pick up marks in transport and at the dealer, but far less than a car with years on it.

Does a coating remove scratches?+

No. Correction removes scratches. Correction happens first, then the coating goes on and holds that result.
