Auto Detailing and Paint Correction in Chatsworth, CA

There is a large gap between a car wash and a detail. A wash removes what is loose. A detail removes what is bonded, corrects what is damaged, and leaves the car in better condition than the day you picked it up from the dealer.

We detail at our Chatsworth shop, serving the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles, with proper lighting, proper chemistry, and the time it actually takes.

Exterior detailing

The exterior work starts with a careful hand wash and a full decontamination. Iron fallout from brake dust, tar from the freeway, overspray, and tree sap all bond to paint and none of it comes off with soap. Chemical decontamination handles the first part, mechanical decontamination handles the rest, and only then is the paint actually clean.

From there we address the trim, the wheels, the wheel wells, the exhaust tips, and the glass. Wheels come off when the job calls for it, because the inside of a wheel barrel is where brake dust really lives.

Paint correction, explained

Most of what makes an older car look tired is not the color fading. It is thousands of fine scratches in the clear coat catching the light. Swirl marks from automatic washes, marring from dirty towels, etching from water spots and bird droppings that sat too long.

Correction is machine polishing that levels the clear coat until those defects are gone rather than filled. It is slow, it is skilled work, and the result is the single most dramatic thing you can do to a car short of repainting it.

Single stage correction uses one polishing step to remove the majority of light defects and restore gloss. It is the right call on newer cars and cars that have been cared for.

Multi stage correction uses a cutting step followed by refining steps. It handles deeper defects and it produces the finish people photograph. It takes considerably longer, and on a neglected car it is the difference between better and transformed.

We measure and inspect before we recommend either one, because clear coat is finite and removing more than necessary is not a favor to anybody.

Interior detailing

Interiors get vacuumed thoroughly, including under the seats and in the tracks where everything collects. Carpets and cloth upholstery get shampooed and extracted. Leather gets cleaned with something appropriate for leather and then conditioned, not coated in a shiny dressing that attracts dust.

Plastics, vinyl, and trim get cleaned and left with a factory finish rather than a greasy shine. Vents, seams, cup holders, door pockets, and the gap between the seat and the console all get attention, because those are the places people notice when they are ignored.

Glass gets done last and gets done properly, inside and out. Streaked interior glass ruins an otherwise perfect detail.

Engine bay

A clean engine bay makes a car easier to sell, easier to work on, and easier to spot a leak in. We cover what needs covering, clean carefully, and dress the plastics lightly. This is an add on rather than a standard inclusion, so ask for it when you book.

Detailing before coating or film

Every ceramic coating and every paint protection film install at our shop begins with detailing work, because both products lock in the surface underneath them. If you are planning either one, the correction is not an upsell, it is the foundation. Doing it in the same visit saves you money against booking the two separately.

Maintenance

The hardest part of owning a car that looks good is keeping it that way. Automatic washes undo correction work in a matter of months, and most people do not have the time or the space to hand wash properly every couple of weeks.

We offer scheduled maintenance detailing for cars we have worked on. It keeps the finish where we left it, catches contamination before it etches, and costs a fraction of doing the correction over again in two years. Ask us about setting up a schedule that matches how you drive.

Detailing for Chatsworth and the surrounding area

We serve Chatsworth and the communities around it. Northridge, Reseda, Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, North Hollywood, and Burbank are all regulars on our books, along with customers from further across Los Angeles who bring a car in specifically for correction work.

Detailing is the one service where seeing the shop matters. Come by, look at what is on the lift, and ask what we would do to your car. We would rather show you than sell you.

Common questions

How long does a full detail take?+

It ranges widely depending on the size of the vehicle, its condition, and how much correction is involved. We will give you a realistic timeframe when we see the car.

How often should I have my car detailed?+

Twice a year suits most daily drivers, with maintenance washes in between. Cars that live outside or carry kids and dogs benefit from more.

Do you offer mobile detailing?+

Correction work needs controlled lighting, power, and a clean space, so that happens at the shop. Call us to discuss what you need.

Can you get pet hair out?+

Usually yes, and it is more work than people expect. Mention it when you book so we can allow the time.

Will detailing remove scratches?+

Correction removes scratches that sit within the clear coat, which is most of what you see. Anything deep enough to catch a fingernail has gone through to the paint or the primer and needs bodywork instead.
